The Diet Solution Program Review

There are thousands of weight loss programs yet many people still suffer the yo-yo effect with their weight.  I am one of those people.

I remember all too well each time I started any of those programs that I never felt the sense that I will be able to keep it up.  It may have been negative thinking, but I always wondered how I was going to handle it when the program was over or how I can stay in it when I hate the foods and I feel hungry quite often.  Isn't being hungry bad for your body?  I suspect I'm not alone on that, but the reason why I thought that way was because the programs were not very enjoyable.  And the thought that I would have to make too many sacrifices that robbed me of my energy just seemed too much to do.  This type of mentality can only lead to temporary results and most of us - certainly it was on my case - won't be on it for long.

Deep down inside, I was frustrated and disappointed once again, so I went through the programs halfheartedly, saw temporary results, and somehow I knew it wouldn't last long, because I was already craving to get back into eating the foods that were not the best for me, but tasted oh-so-damn-good!  I felt that there has got to be a program that I can stick with it for the rest of my life.  I wasn't looking for a quick fix, I just wanted a program that made sense and yet enjoyable enough to limit my sacrifices.  I was willing to make sacrifices, but not to a point where I was unhappy most of the time.  I like my meat and chicken and without a certain amount of meat on each meal, I would go hungry very quickly.

There has got to be a program where I can eat more of what I like, which would make it okay to eat more of the foods that I don't like as well.

My prayers were answered.  One of the big raves right now is The Diet Solution Program.  I looked into it a little bit before purchasing it and it seemed to make a lot of sense.  Isabel De Los Rios, who is the creator of the program, mentioned something that really hit home to me.  She mentioned that there are different metabolic types and depending on which type you are, if you eat in a way that is not your metabolic type, you can't stay on that program very long because your body will crave certain types of foods.

THAT GOT MY ATTENTION!

Isabel was a once overweight herself and now she is just a perfect picture for health.  Her program is so easy to follow and it makes so much sense that she says the it's typical for those on the program to lose 3-10 pounds in the first week and then continue losing a significant amount of weight after that.  This got my attention as well.

So, I bought the program!

Here is what I like about her program - as I mentioned above, she said there are different metabolic types.  There is the Protein Type, the Carb Type and the Mixed Type.  You can figure out which one you are with her test questionnaire inside the program.  Each type has to eat a certain way which is more natural for their body.  And by doing so, your body won't go into deprivation mode, which causes the body to hold on to our fat to protect us just in case we don't get anymore nutrients.  I won't go into the details as to what happens to our body at that point.  I just want to say that The Diet Solution Program takes this into consideration and creates an eating plan for each metabolic type so the body functions at its optimum throughout the day.  What this really meant to me was that I now have a meal plan that I can use for the rest of my life!  This information made so much sense for me.  Think about it.  We're not all made the same.  We all react differently to different types of foods. This is why most diet programs fail us.  Clearly we're all different and so the program can't be one way - it has to be specific, which The Diet Solution Program is.

The program also goes into debunking many of the myths about different foods that has been touted by the media as health foods, when in fact, they are what has been making us all fat.  She goes into the differences between good and bad fats and oils and how healthy fats can actually help you lose more fat.  Wow!  Eat fat to lose fat!  I love it!  The way she explains it - it totally makes sense.

I bought the program last week and I will report on my progress on a weekly basis.  I can tell you this, at the end of my first day I noticed that I felt "lighter" already.  After a few days, I can tell that my body was correcting itself and is flushing my system.  I noticed I went to the bathroom more often.  I noticed two things: 1)  I felt energize and alert first thing the morning and not sluggish like I have been. 2)  When I looked in the mirror, I noticed my face had a little shape to it.  I loved these feelings and they absolutely gave me so much hope.  I was very excited about how I was going to feel after the first week.

So, as of the beginning of this program, I weighed in at exactly 250 pounds and at 33.8% body fat.  Though this sounds bad enough, think of these numbers on someone (me) who is only 5'7" tall.  Hmm!  Not at all pretty is it! (picture above was when I was around 220 lbs and was training for a half marathon - Yup - I finished!)

I would like for the whole world to follow along with me on my journey and hold me accountable.  This is the main reason why I''m doing this blog.  I want to put this pressure on myself so I will finally do something about my weight issue and I believe with a steady exercise program and The Diet Solution Program, I can achieve my goal of getting my weight down below 200 pounds and my body fat percentage towards 10%.

I can honestly say, that after just 4 days with The Diet Solution Program, that this is a lifestyle change and not just another diet program.  I like it because I never have to starve myself and I love the foods I eat.  One other thing - I don't have to give up anything that I love to eat - now I just know when to have them and how much!

If you want to check out The Diet Solution Program, you can do it here!

By the way, I would like to mention my second goal - and that is to finally see a six pack on my abs.

So, join me on my journey and let me know how you're doing as well.  Let's do this together and help each other out!  Talk with you next week and here's to your health and wealth!

The Journey To Health... The beginning

In the beginning, there was man....  Just kidding!  I wanted to jot down what I'm doing to get started on this journey to health and wealth.  It all starts with health.  After all, what good is anything else without it!

There are a few things that I must discuss to get ready and I believe they are very important.  I want this journey to be "it."  I don't want to do start this journey like the ones I've done before where I lost weight, felt good and then gain back the weight again because I went back to my old routine.  I want this to be the final change and then keep it off for the rest of my life!

First off, let me just describe myself.  I'm 44 years old - 45 in late July - and I have always gone up and down on my weight.  I am fairly athletic - always have been.  However, I've also been a very good cook and love to eat what I cook.  I have never been really lean, but have been in good shape.  I'm on the stocky side.  They call my body type endomorph, which to me means the type of body that has a hard time losing weight, but gains weight easily.
